House Cleanouts in Dover and Newark: Two Homes, One Week

House Cleanouts in Dover and Newark: Two Homes, One Week

A house cleanout is not one corner or one room. It is the whole house, and it has to be planned that way.

In the week of September 20, 2026 we did two of them. One was a family home in Dover, the other a townhouse in Newark. Here is how each went.

A family home in Dover

A family was clearing a parent's home in Dover. By the time we pulled up, most of what was going had already been bagged and set outside.

Boxes, storage bins and household items staged on the front lawn of a Dover home before the cleanout

That is the single biggest thing that speeds a cleanout up. When the bags are already outside, the crew spends its time loading instead of carrying through the house, and a shorter visit costs less.

If you are clearing a parent's home and the sorting has already been done, this is the model. If the sorting has not started yet and you want help with it, that is what our estate cleanouts are for.

A townhouse cleanout in Newark

In Newark we did a full townhouse cleanout, start to finish.

The same bedroom emptied down to the carpet

Townhouse cleanouts usually mean stairs and limited parking. The carry often runs down a staircase and out the front door, and there may not be much room out front for a trailer. We plan for both before we start: where the trailer goes, and how each room comes out.

The basement was part of the same job.

Newark is one of our most-served towns, and a townhouse is normal work for us there.

How a house cleanout actually works

  1. Free on-site estimate. We walk the house with you and look at the stairs, the doors and where the trailer can park.
  2. A flat price before anything is loaded. You know the number before we start.
  3. Room by room. We work through the house one room at a time, so nothing gets missed.
  4. You point, we carry. Anything you want to keep, say so and we leave it.
  5. A sweep at the end. Each room gets left clear, not just emptied.
  6. We sort it after. Usable items go to local donation, metal gets recycled, and only what is left goes to the transfer station.

What we cannot take

Paint, solvents, motor oil, propane tanks and asbestos have to go through household hazardous waste, not our trailer. If you are unsure about something in the house, send a photo and we will tell you straight.

Prep that saves you money

You do not have to do anything before we come. But if you want the price lower, the Dover job is the model. Bag what is going and set it outside where you can, so we load instead of carrying through the house. Decide what is staying before we arrive, and tell us or keep it in one room. Make sure the driveway or the curb is clear so we can get the trailer close.

Getting yours scheduled

We are family owned, licensed and insured, and based in Middletown, right between Dover and Newark. The estimate is free and on-site. Every job starts at our $199 minimum, and the price goes up with how much there is and how much work it takes. You get the flat price before anything is loaded.

If most of the job is below ground, see our basement cleanouts. If it is a parent's home and the sorting still needs doing, read about estate cleanouts.
