An old shed is one of those jobs that sits on the list for years. It leans a little more each winter, the door stops closing, and it slowly fills with things nobody wants. Then you decide the yard would be better off without it.
This is what shed removal in Delaware actually looks like. Two jobs, both from the week of September 13, 2026, both finished in a day.
Two sheds in one Wilmington backyard
A Wilmington homeowner had two sheds sitting side by side at the back of the property. One was an old wooden barn-style shed with the door hanging open. The other sat right against the fence line, which is the part that makes these jobs slower than people expect. There is no room to swing anything, so the structure has to come apart in the direction it can actually leave.

We took both of them down and hauled everything away in the same visit.

What is left is the footprint. Bare ground where the sheds sat, and a fence line you can actually walk. Most homeowners reseed it or put down stone once the dirt settles.
A fire-damaged shed in Newark
The same week, a Newark homeowner had a shed damaged in a small fire. Wood frame, burned down to the studs, roof gone.

Fire debris is different from a normal teardown. The structure is unstable, the material is dirty, and it has to be handled and loaded carefully rather than pulled apart in big pieces. The shed was nearly empty, so the work was the structure itself. We took it down, took the floor out with it, and cleared the debris.

If your shed burned and you are working with insurance, take your own photos before anyone touches it. We are happy to work around your adjuster's timeline.
What shed removal includes
When we quote shed and fence removal, the price covers the whole job:
- Taking the structure apart on site
- Carrying it out, even when the only path is a narrow side yard or a gate
- Loading it on the trailer
- Sweeping up the nails, screws and broken pieces that come loose
- Hauling it off, with metal and clean wood recycled where we can
Floors and pads are part of the conversation. A wood floor usually comes out with the shed, like the Newark job. A concrete pad is a bigger job, so tell us at the estimate whether you want it gone or left in place.
How much does shed removal cost in Delaware?
Every job starts at our $199 minimum, and the price goes up with the size of the structure and how much work it takes to get it out. A small metal shed in an open yard is at the easy end. A two-story wooden shed wedged behind a fence with no gate access is at the other.
The estimate is free, it happens on site, and you get a flat number before we start. Nothing gets touched until you say go.
Where we do shed removal
We are based in Middletown and we run the whole state, seven days a week. Shed removal comes up constantly in Middletown, Wilmington, Newark, Bear, Smyrna and Dover.
Some towns and homeowner associations want a permit or a notice before a structure comes down. Check with yours first, because that is the one part of this we cannot do for you.
While we are there, most customers have us take the other things that have piled up around the shed too. Old fencing, yard waste and construction debris all load on the same trailer.
